President David reflected on the event.....
"The Sundial ceremony was attended by 35 Rotarians and we were blessed by dry weather, though it was a bit blustery.
Canon Michael Smith acting Dean performed a very nice ceremony and blessed the Sundial, the new tree and the plaque.
Canon Michael mentioned that on completion the re-landscaped College Green area is to be designated to the memorial of those who have lost their lives from Covid, that is something really important for the city.
Stephen Lusty chair of the Civic Trust commented on the importance of the project.
The occasion was rounded off by the Sheriff of York, Ashley Mason who commented on the great partnership shown by the project. "
